Unless it says differently below all Explorer Nights start at the Scout Hut at 7.30pm and finish at the Scout Hut at 9.30pm. The Scout Hut will be open from 7.00pm and Explorers should arrive by 7.25pm. All Explorers need to wear full and correct uniform and bring a full change of old clothes suitable for wearing outdoors, whatever the weather conditions.

Subs payments

We are currently not able to accept any cash payments. Our preferred method of payments are via bank (BACS) transfer. If you cannot do a bank transfer we do have an alternative cash free method available if necessary.
We are now accepting subs payments by BACS/standing order. If you would like to pay subs by BACS/standing order it must be paid in advance and we would suggest a payment of £10 per month. This will keep your payments on track, as with the weeks we are closed it will average out over the course of the year.
To set up to pay this way please put SUBS and your child’s name in the payment reference and email Luke at [email protected] to say that a payment has been made. We do still ask that your youngster checks in at the start of the evening, so that our fire checklist and attendance register is correct.
Activity payments
You can also pay for activities and camps in this way. Put the reference as the activity name and your child’s name and then email Luke once the payment has been made.

What to wear & bring with you
All safety and specialist equipment will be provided. Please wear light clothing. If the weather is warm a T shirt, shorts and an old pair of pumps or trainers will be ideal. If it is a bit colder or windy trackie bottoms may be better than shorts and a lightweight waterproof top would be handy. It is essential that everyone wears an old pair of trainers or pumps these will get very wet.
Drop off and Pick Up arrangements
This activity is taking place on an operational caravan & camping park by kind permission of the site owners Karen & Paul Merchant. There will be customers on site and it is vital that everyone follows the arrangements below to ensure safety and compliance with both the site’s and our Covid secure policy. Failure by anyone to follow these instructions may result in us being unable to use the site for future activities.
Arrival – Please arrange to arrive between 6.20pm and 6.30pm. Do not enter the site before 6.20pm. Follow the drive to the main car park where you will see a leader by the benches next to the carpark. Please drop off your youngster and then please immediately leave the site.
Pick Up – Please arrive at site between 9.05pm and 9.15pm, park up in the main car park and remain in your car. The leader will send your youngster over to your car when it is safe to do so.
Please drive slowly on site and follow all instructions from site staff and our leaders.
Nuneaton District sailing expedition 2022

We have the opportunity to join Nuneaton District on a sailing expedition from Portsmouth to the Channel Islands and back.
We will be sailing with Offshore Adventures on Scout owned boats. The cost includes food, transport and all waterproof gear for the sailing experience.
You will be sailing on a huge yacht and learning everything you need to know to get to your destination safely! You’ll be working as part of the crew during the expedition under the watchful eye of a real sea Captain!
Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Celebration evening 2022

All Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Adults and their families and friends are invited to our celebration evening and AGM.
It’s been a while since we’ve been able to get together and celebrate all of the fantastic awards and achievements that our members have worked so hard towards. On the evening there will be some award presentations, our AGM, a buffet, some games and a disco.
Please can all members wear their uniform for the start of the event but they can change into party clothes after the presentations of awards.

Are you looking for a challenge? Come along to our Survival Camp and earn one of the hardest badges in the Explorer Section: Survival Skills. This weekend is not for the faint hearted as we will be putting all of your Scouting skills to the test! Are you ready? Can you survive?
This weekend will include shelter building, finding and preparing food, water purification, overnight in the woods, and much more.
Survival Camp is suitable for any Explorers who have some prior camping experience and fancy a challenge! If you’re unsure about anything then have a chat about it with the Section Leader.

This is an opportunity for Nuneaton District Explorers to have a weekend of walking in the Peak District. During the weekend they will spend one day walking up Kinder Scout – the largest peak in the Peak District, and another day walking in the Roaches and exploring the chasms around Lud’s church. They will also have the option to sleep in hammocks.

Nuneaton District Scouts are organising an international experience for Scouts and Explorers to Normandy, France, running from May 28th to June 3rd, 2023. The trip will be over 7 days / 6 nights.
Operation Overlord was the codename for the Battle of Normandy, the Allied operation that launched the successful invasion of German-occupied Western Europe during World War II. The operation was launched on 6 June 1944 with the Normandy landings.
A haven of rugged coastlines, maritime towns and historic treasures, a trip to Normandy encapsulates everything that is special about rural France. Known for its history, the region’s long sweep of beaches and pastoral villages make it even more endearing. Get to grips with the local lingo amongst the lively shops and enjoy a taste of life ‘à la française’. You will be able to pick up some new vocabulary at a traditional market, then soak up Normandy’s D-Day history and walk in the footsteps of heroes.
And if that was not enough, we will have a full day in Disney Land Paris.
The Cost is confirmed at £615, with a non-returnable deposit of £150 to hold your place.
We will then invite members to a briefing where we will then outline the trip in full.
