It is still payable even if a member does not attend a Unit Night. Please also be aware that activities outside of the Unit Night may be at extra cost.

What do Explorers do?

Explorer Scouts enjoy lots of social activities, have a lot of fun, learn lots of Skills for Life and take part in adventurous activities. In addition to the Scout Associations own training and award scheme, 1st Bedworth also offers the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme. The programme includes a wide selection of activities with the emphasis on the outdoors and adventure.

All of our meetings are ran by trained and experienced leaders who are supported by a team of skills instructors and helpers. Also, all of our Adult Volunteers are vetted by an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Young Leaders

Explorer Scouts are offered the opportunity to develop as Young Leaders with the junior sections of the Group. Young People who take up this opportunity are given leadership training including modules on First Aid, Safety, Safeguarding Young People, managing groups, and programme planning. Also, volunteering as a Young Leader counts towards Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
