Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers are meeting at the Scout Hut this week. We’re looking forward to welcoming you back as safely as possible. Please make sure you read the important information.
This week Beavers are going to be learning how to use a Knife and an Axe to create firewood safely. It is important the the Beavers wear their strong leather school shoes or walking boots or similar.
We will be outside for most of these activities so please make sure you come dressed appropriately for the weather.
All Beavers who are planning on returning to face to face Scouting on Monday must have a completed consent form from their parent/guardian before attending.

What to wear & bring with you
All safety and specialist equipment will be provided. Please wear light clothing. If the weather is warm a T shirt, shorts and an old pair of pumps or trainers will be ideal. If it is a bit colder or windy trackie bottoms may be better than shorts and a lightweight waterproof top would be handy. It is essential that everyone wears an old pair of trainers or pumps these will get very wet.
Please bring a spare change of clothes and a towel. Scouts will not be getting changed – these are only for emergencies.
Drop off and Pick Up arrangements
This activity is taking place on an operational caravan & camping park by kind permission of the site owners Karen & Paul Merchant. There will be customers on site and it is vital that everyone follows the arrangements below to ensure safety. Failure by anyone to follow these instructions may result in us being unable to use the site for future activities.
Arrival – Please arrange to arrive between 5.35pm and 5.45pm. Do not enter the site before 5.35pm. Follow the drive to the main car park where you will see a leader by the benches next to the carpark. Adults providing transport are asked to please leave 5 Ways as soon as they have dropped off their youngster.
Pick Up – Please arrive at site between 7.10pm and 7.15pm, park up in the main car park and please remain in your car. The leader will send your youngster over to your car when it is safe to do so.

This week we will be enjoying some games followed by a BBQ. During the BBQ we will be chatting about what activities everyone would like to be doing on Wednesday & Friday night for for the next few weeks. It would be great if everyone came along with some great ideas.
Can we remind everyone please that it is really important to let us know if Scouts are going to be absent from their meeting night on a Wednesday or Friday night. To tell us know either email [email protected] or text 07710113291 before the start of the meeting.
We would prefer that Scouts leave their mobile phone at home when they attend Scout Activities including Wednesday & Friday Night. If Scouts do bring a mobile with them it is their responsibility to keep it safe. Mobiles must not be used during meetings and activities and it must remain out of sight in a bag or secure pocket or similar.
