All of our Sections are running virtual meetings again this week! Explorers will be meeting every other week and do have a meeting this week. These meetings will be ran by your usual Leaders, at the usual time and we’re going to make them as fun and adventurous as possible!
This week Beavers are having a virtual meeting and will be doing some activities around Burns night and the Loch Ness Monster!
You’ll just need a some paper/card (coloured if possible, but not essential), a pencil, some coloured pencils/crayons, sellotape, a ruler and some scissors this week.
There will are only virtual meetings for Beavers on Monday evenings. Tuesday and Thursday Beavers are more than welcome to join in on Monday evenings instead.
This week the Cubs are having a virtual meeting and are working towards their Communicator badge. They’ll be learning about a cypher wheel and practising sending encrypted messages.
You’ll just need a pencil & paper this week.
This week Scouts have a virtual meeting on Wednesday starting at 7:00pm. We’re going to be finishing working on your Model Maker’s badge and looking at what everybody has created.
Any Scout can work toward this badge, you don’t have to be on the virtual meeting. To complete this badge you need to:
- Choose one of these activities:
- Build a model using a plastic or white metal kit or pre-cast figures.
- Design and construct a model from a wood, plastic or metal construction set, such as Lego or Meccano.
- Show that you know the different types of kits or parts available in the material you chose.
- Talk about the experience of building the model with a knowledgeable adult.
The model should take you at least two hours to make. There is an Amazon Voucher Prize for the best model.
If you will be on the virtual meeting have your model ready to show everyone on Wednesday and we will do parts 2 & 3 on the virtual meeting.
If you will not be on the virtual meeting on Wednesday and you want to have a chance to win the amazon voucher take a picture of your model and attach it to an email to [email protected] by 7.30pm on Wednesday Night.
If you don’t want to enter the competition there is no deadline to get the photo to us. If you are not on the virtual meeting but send a photo of your model we will contact you and tell you how to complete parts 2 & 3.
