This week the Cubs are having a games night on their virtual meeting. You won’t need anything extra this week.

Congratulations to our two winners of the bird feeder competition, Tayla and Arthur!

If you read our email last week you will already know that we will be returning to face to face Scouting on Tuesday 13th April, providing the government ‘roadmap’ remains the same. Here is a little more information:

  • The activities will be mainly practical and will be fun.
  • You can choose to attend on a Tuesday or Thursday night. The meetings will run from 6.30pm to 8.00pm on both nights.
  • The activities will be mainly outdoors but we will be using the toilets indoors and will use the two meeting rooms if the weather is bad.
  • We will not be wearing uniform for the first few weeks. Members need to come dressed in appropriate clothes to be outside, whatever the weather
  • All activities will be covid secure and socially distanced.
  • The Tuckshop will not be open for the first few weeks. Everyone needs to bring a full drinks bottle with them.
  • For a member under 18 to attend these activities a parent/carer must have completed the online permission form.

There is a lot more important information that we have shared with you by email.

Please can you make sure you have read all of the information and completed all of the forms required in order for us to welcome you back safely.

Thanks everyone who joined us on Wednesday for our virtual meeting about Staying Safe online. We were very impressed that many of you already had a good knowledge of this topic and with the sensible way you talked about the subject. I hope you learnt something new at the meeting. Woody says that despite his many years on the internet he picked up some new tips.

This Wednesday we will be enjoying an online fun & games night. The following week, back by popular demand, we will be having another game of ‘Among Us’.

Hopefully these will be our last two virtual meetings before we return to face to face Scouting at the Scout Hut.

If you read our email last week you will already know that we will be returning to face to face Scouting on Wednesday 14th April, providing the government ‘roadmap’ remains the same. Here is a little more information:

  • The theme will be ‘Backwood Skills’ and the activities will be mainly practical and will be fun.
  • You can choose to attend on a Wednesday or Friday night. The meetings will run from 7.00pm to 8.30pm on both nights.
  • All members need to bring a face covering unless they are medically exempt and we have received an email or note from a parent/carer saying they are medically exempt.
  • The Tuckshop will not be open for the first few weeks. Everyone needs to bring a full drinks bottle with them.
  • For a member under 18 to attend these activities a parent/carer must have completed the online permission form.

Reminder: Please can all Scouts complete the quiz questions here and send your answers to [email protected] before the 4th April. We’re going to be using the answers to create a gameshow style activity for the Scouts.

Please read the March newsletter to learn how you can earn your ‘Lockdown Badge’. You have March & April to earn this badge. You can earn this badge without joining in the Virtual Meetings if you wish. You will be able to wear this badge on your uniform and it will only be available to members of 1st Bedworth who earn it in the next two months.

Read the Scouts newsletter for March to see what you need for the rest of the month.
