This St George’s Day event is for all members to attend in full smart uniform (Smart trousers e.g. school trousers no jeans etc… and school type shoes, not trainers). All Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and uniformed adults are expected to attend unless they have a very good reason not to attend. Anyone unable to attend is expected to contact Woody before the start of the Parade. We will meet up in the quadrangle in front of Bedworth Almshouses between 1.00 pm and 1.15 pm. Pick up will be the same place at around 3.30 pm.
The Parade will be from the Almshouses to Bedworth Civic Hall where the service and presentation event will be held. Afterwards we will parade back to the Almshouses. District Camp 2019 will be a brilliant camp which will see Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and adults from most of the Scout Groups in Nuneaton District camping together for a weekend of fun and activities. Activities will include zip wire, pedal karts, archery, shooting, abseiling, climbing, kayaking, rafting, craft and much more.
This is a great activity weekend organised by Nuneaton District Scouts. During the weekend Scouts will spend one day Kayaking from Glasbury to Hay on Wye on the River Wye and the other day walking in the Brecon Beacons.
This camp will help Scouts to achieve their expedition challenge award, a badge that is not possible to get on a regular section meeting! The award also goes towards earning their Chief Scouts Gold, the highest award earned in Scouts!
Scouts taking part on this weekend will be living on, crewing and operating a 12 berth narrowboat on the canal system around Rugby. They will be helming the boat, operating locks, cooking meals in the galley, learning how to maintain the boat and so on. This really is a hands on, active weekend. Scouts will also gain the Scout Power Coxswain Badge which is a rare badge for ‘land’ Scouts to gain.
This camp is open to all Scouts.
Transport is provided from and back to the Scout Hut for this camp.
There are only 10 places available on this weekend which are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
To book a place on this camp hand in the £57.50 in a named envelope at the subs table while places are still available.
