All of our Sections are running virtual meetings again this week! Explorers will be meeting every other week and do not have a meeting this week. These meetings will be ran by your usual Leaders, at the usual time and we’re going to make them as fun and adventurous as possible!
This week Beavers are having a virtual meeting and we have a very special guest joining us to have a virtual campfire!
You don’t need anything, but if you want to get into the spirit of a campfire, you could have a hot chocolate, a camp blanket and maybe some marshmallows nearby!
Last week, we set our Beavers a challenge to write an acrostic poem. Here’s an example:
Beavers is great
Every week we have fun
A promise is made
Virtual meetings are a new way to meet
Everyone is friendly
Ready to enjoy our scouting
Safe in each other’s company
How did you get on?
There will are only virtual meetings for Beavers on Monday evenings. Tuesday and Thursday Beavers are more than welcome to join in on Monday evenings instead.

This week the Cubs are having a virtual meeting and are working towards their Artist badge. They’ll be having a virtual tour of an art gallery, making a clay model and other artsy stuff!
This week you’ll need:
- 1 cup of salt (273g)
- 2 cups of flour (370g)
- 3/4 cup of water (175ml)

This week Scouts have a virtual meeting on Wednesday starting at 7:00pm.
This week’s Challenge is the ‘Great Duvet Sprint’. This is a challenge that involves lots of skill, tenacity and dexterity. Are you up for the challenge? How quickly can you change a Duvet Cover? Make sure you have your parents permission before you start this challenge.
All that you have to do is learn how to take off a duvet cover and then put a cover back onto the duvet correctly, either a clean one or the original one, depending on whether or not your duvet cover needs washing. Practice changing the cover and try to build up your speed.
We are looking for the Scout who can change the cover in record time. Time yourself from when you start to take off the cover until the cover is removed and replaced back on the duvet.
For those of you who who will be joining us at the virtual meeting we challenge you to attempt the sprint live on air, just have your Duvet ready on Wednesday night. There will be a small prize for the best performance on Wednesday night
We would like everyone to join in this challenge whether or not you are on the virtual meeting on Wednesday. Just get someone to time you and email your time to [email protected] by midday on Saturday, and if you can send photos or a video that will be even better. There will also be a small prize for the best ‘offline’ time.
We were very impressed with the models you made for the Model Maker badge. Woody was that impressed that he has decided to also put up an Amazon Voucher for second place, as well as 1st place. Our two lucky winners will be announced live ‘on air’ on Wednesday.
