Activities for week commencing Monday 22nd March

All of our Sections are running virtual meetings again this week! Explorers will be meeting every other week and do have a meeting this week. These meetings will be ran by your usual Leaders, at the usual time and we’re going to make them as fun and adventurous as possible!

Ann-Marie has also set an Easter Challenge for all of our members this week too! Take a look and find out what you need to do.

This week there’s been a slight change of plan with Beavers. We’re going to be doing the Pioneering challenge instead of the Cress Heads this week.

You will need:

  • Dry spaghetti (or paper rolled into tubes, straws, pipe-cleaners or similar)
  • Marshmallows (or play dough, blu-tac or something that will hold together the joints)

Your challenges are:

  1. Make the tallest tower
  2. Build a tower that can hold an apple
  3. Make a self portrait using only spaghetti and marshmallows (or you two building materials)

Here is a basic structure to get you started!

Over the coming weeks we will be sharing our plans with you for some face to face activities for Beavers.

Read the Beavers newsletter for March to see what you need for the rest of the month.

This week the Cubs are working on their local knowledge! You’ll just need some bits to make a poster with.

From Tuesday 13th April, we are aiming to have Cub meetings running back at the Scout Hut.

There is a lot of important information that we will share with you by email.

Please can you make sure you have read all of the information and completed all of the forms required in order for us to welcome you back safely.

Read more about what we are doing, and what we have planned for the rest of March in our Cubs March Newsletter

Well done William for sending us a picture of your Lockdown Super Hero, it’s brilliant it will be appearing on our Facebook page soon. This week’s challenge is to solve this riddle:

Romeo and Juliet are found dead on the floor in a bedroom. When they were discovered, there were pieces of glass and some water on the floor. The only furniture in the room is a shelf and a bed. The house is in a remote location, away from everything except for the nearby railway track. What caused the death of Romeo and Juliet?

Send you answers by email to [email protected] or text to 07710 113291. Don’t forget to include your name with your answer.

The theme for this Wednesday’s programme is ‘Staying Safe Online’ and will include a fun quiz.

Here is some good news: From Wednesday 14th April we will be meeting again at the Scout Hut, providing the ‘Government Roadmap’ doesn’t change. We will be doing activities such as backwoodsmanship, pioneering, archery & shooting.

There is a lot of important information that we will share with you by email.

Please can you make sure you have read all of the information and completed all of the forms required in order for us to welcome you back safely.

Please read the March newsletter to learn how you can earn your ‘Lockdown Badge’. You have March & April to earn this badge. You can earn this badge without joining in the Virtual Meetings if you wish. You will be able to wear this badge on your uniform and it will only be available to members of 1st Bedworth who earn it in the next two months.

Read the Scouts newsletter for March to see what you need for the rest of the month.

Explorers are having a virtual meeting this week.
